If/Else Loops in Templates: Question

Using Jamroom

Many thanks....will try again and remember to run in dev mode this time :) On a side (but related) issue, I have realised that I can include a general note at the top of that page by simply adding a non alphabetic entry at the top of the list ( see:- https://americymru.net/americymru/documentation/adjectives ). BUT is there any way that I can introduce html into the title field? I would like (if poss) to put a few hr's around ANSODDEIRIAU CYMRAEG - WELSH ADJECTIVES FAQ

If/Else Loops in Templates: Question

Using Jamroom

It looks like it should be item_index.tpl but when I add the debug code to that template nothing happens?

If/Else Loops in Templates: Question

Using Jamroom

Yeah I turned it off before I went to bed last night BUT it's on again now. Is it possible to identify the template in question?

If/Else Loops in Templates: Question

Using Jamroom

I must be missing something. I ran "Template Name in Source" and it appears that the template I'm after is item_index.tpl BUT just to be sure I put the code in a couple of other likely candidates as well with no result. Where on the template page does the code go? Or doesn't it matter?

If/Else Loops in Templates: Question

Using Jamroom

I am assuming that the template I need is the item_index.tpl in the Doc mod. How do I get debug to display as it does in your video? I added the code in several places in the template but nothing happened??

If/Else Loops in Templates: Question

Using Jamroom

I want to put a small text area on this page :- https://americymru.net/americymru/documentation/adjectives , above the (endless) list of adjectives on the page. Can this be done by inserting the required content in the appropriate template with an if/else loop? I know this can be done in order to change the appearance of a module. Indeed I have already done this in the Doc mod. What I am wondering is this:- will this work for an individual url? Can I construct an if/else loop in the template which will put my text (graphics, links etc) on this url and this url alone?

A Follow Up Question.....

Using Jamroom

This is a follow up question to the one I posed in this thread:- https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/forum/my_posts/61093/sidebar-in-doc-module

Is it possible to do something similar in other modules using an "if/else" loop?

AND more importantly is it possible to achieve more granular control over the sidebar in modules by creating dedicated sidebars based on tags?

e.g. I would like to create a different sidebar display for a series of blog posts with a specific tag. Let's say I had a series of blogs and I wanted to present a unique sidebar display for all blogs with the tag (for example) "contrib". Is this possible and if so how would I go about it?

I used the "if/else" loop which Paul suggested to make the following sidebar for my Welsh language course:- https://americymru.net/americymru/documentation/nouns

BUT what if I wanted to create a different sidebar which is limited to a subset of these pages whilst leaving the rest as they are? Can I do this by adding some code to the template based on a tag? Also can I do something similar with other modules and in particular the Blog module?

Sidebar in Doc Module

Using Jamroom

I asked about this a week ago but in a two part question which I realise is not the best way to go about things. So today I am posing it as a separate enquiry.

Is it possible to develop a custom sidebar for the Documentation module? I imagine this would involve designing a new template and calling it from the other module templates? I must stress that I only want this new sidebar (which will consist mainly of links to the new language course I am developing) to appear on the Documentation module.

Many thanks in anticipation.

Two Questions About Documentation Module

Using Jamroom

Tried that....doesn't seem to work. I even tried adding the above code to the doc_section_text_and_image.tpl. SO the jrProfile_disable_module_tabs code is in both the:-

doc_section_text_and_image.tpl

doc_section_header.tpl

-: templates but the buttons are still there.

Also, did you get a chance to consider the sidebar question? I just want to know how to replace the sidebar template with a custom template for this module. The idea is to show relevant course based links, ads etc in the left hand sidebar on the module. Overall the idea is to make the module (since it is a self contained language course somewhat unrelated to the rest of the mainly English language text on the rest of the site) almost a site within a site. Consequently users could follow the course without distractions from the other site content.
